I will be attending a dinner tonight at Il Trulli in Manhattan hosted by the International Wine Center for the 21 students who earned their diplomas this year.
From the IWC website
The WSET’s Diploma program is the highest level of structured wine study available in America and 128 students in IWC’s history have achieved the honor.
Twenty-one students in one year is a high number for the IWC, which is indicative, either, of a growing interest in wine and the hope that careers are there. Or that 2008 was the year many who started years before finally got the work done. The program is designed to take two years, but students are given three years to finish.
