The results of the New York Wine & Food Classic will come in this afternoon while I’m at the restaurant, so I won’t be able to post the results until tomorrow. Lenn Thompson over at LENNDEVOURS will have them.
The publicity and information about the Classic is sorely lacking. There is not one mention of the 2008 event on the New York Wine & Grape Foundation’s website and no one there ever answers the phone. A lot of effort goes into the event and every winery must spend $40 for each entry plus the cost of shipping the wine. Why would one have to dig to find out what’s going on? Perhaps some of that $200,000 the state threw the wine industry’s way could have paid for the NYWGF’s press person’s cell phone to be posted on their website.
