Deborah Brenner was in the restaurant this weekend. Author of the book Women of the Vine and creator of the wine label Women of the Vine, she was on the North Fork to do a reading and answer questions at Palmer Vineyards on Sunday.
Deborah’s enthusiasm for wine prompted her to interview 20 women in the wine world and write a book about the experience. She didn’t stop there. She is now is bottling wine by six women winemakers under Women of the Vine Cellars.
In Napa, she has organized get-togethers with panels of women in the wine business — winemakers, vineyard managers, sommeliers — and tickets have sold out. After spending the weekend on the North Fork, she’s thinking about doing the same out here.
The wine she brought to the restaurant was a cabernet from Paso Robles by Signe Zoller. It was a bright happy California cab with medium to light body.
